One penguin put on an Iron Man suit and started zapping certain areas of the place, sending paperwork and other things flying. Another chopped things with a lightsaber, which was suitably red. A third donned a James P. Sullivan costume and sent sound waves around the facility, cracking glass and foundation along the way.
The other penguins punched zip drives into the mainframe computers. When all the info was sucked up, the computers, which Rookie had added popcorn bombs to, blew up as the zip drive had commanded the bombs to do. Sparks and glass flew onto the floor.
For a third time, the government was under attack. And for the third time, all the agents could do was watch.

Rookie soon got mad at the Sulley in the room. He had broken the glass of a computer and had thus disabled the popcorn bomb. Rookie asked forcefully, "why must you always mess up?"
Five minutes ago, Dot would have thought of two things from that phrase. One: what is up with Rookie? Two: that's a bit hypocritical. But this was not the old Rookie. This was the reborn one.
At the same time, she made the realization that these Revolutionists were not trying to attack them. Their arrows were not directed at them; they were directed at machinery, at things with no life. Their orders were to trash the place and hijack the systems; they were not here to cause harm to the agents. However, if one of the EPF agents did get injured, there was no shame in that.
At this point a light fixture came crashing on the Command Room table, having been hit with a few arrows. It fizzled and cracked the wood. Half of the table collapsed, though not the side the three agents were under. It was time to move. Now.

The three quickly moved out from under the table, holding onto each other. They were one unit, looking for the means to escape.
And that's when the second light came crashing down.
It narrowly missed the trio on its downward voyage. The flares did, however, scorch Dot's feet. Always a good soldier, she trudged on. Every step was increasingly excruciating as they made their way towards....wait, where were they going?
Only G seemed to know. They quickly flew up the steps, an arrow missing their heads by only a few eyebrow lengths. Some bricks, exposed by the stripping of the wallpaper, fell to the floor on their left with the sound of LEGO blocks.
The sight of the HQ in its current state would make penguins cling to their puffle pals. It would make ninjas run to the green forest to collect themselves. It was devastating.

The door being blocked, they ran towards the construction chamber that was once the VR Room transporter. Now it was a construction zone.
At least that's what the front showed.
However, if you traveled behind the wood, the transporter was still there. It was held up by some craftily placed wood.
The three leaped onto the rickety wood platform and then into the chamber. However, the floor of it wasn't stable. The chamber traveled through the supporting wood beams and cracked them. They began free-falling, hugging each other, praying that it would all be alright. In all her years in the field, Dot had never felt such a sense of foreboding. She had never been more afraid in her life.
They reached the bottom.

A pile of ashes broke their fall. However, the pod, now having nothing to hold onto, began a vertical fall, sliding down the pile of ashes. It's momentum was broken by some of the top panels, whose glass broke and then whose window sills wedged the chamber between the somewhat firm pile of ashes and themselves.
The trio slipped out. It was a bit of a hard drop.
After laying there for a moment, collecting her senses, Dot looked up.
She saw a world that had never been intended for her eyes.
To Be Continued
Just read the first three parts - very interesting! What did Dot see? This is a very exciting story.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment! I'll give you hint: she sees something that makes serious Jet Pack Guy crack.
DeleteOoh... you've got me even more interested than before!
DeleteAmazing story! Can't wait for the next chapter! Have you ever considered becoming a professional author? Personally, I'd love a story with Rockhopper on a mysterious island, or a new sequel to Space Adventure. Maybe even a Shadow Guy and Gamma Gal story. Anyway, keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback! I do plan to write some stories about those guys in the future!
DeleteIt's funny you mention me wanting to be a professional author - that is actually one of my ambitions in life. I'd like to have that as part time job! I've already mapped out a five book original series in my head!
