All Hands On Deck (4): Something To Move On From

Rockhopper awoke before the woman.  He heard the sound of the ocean as he opened his eyes.  He was drifting back in forth with the waves, having fallen into the ocean when the wind had finally stopped and his momentum had finally died out.  It was an all too familiar place to be for him on this day.

Rockhopper looked around.  He first saw his possessions, scattered around him in random areas.  Many items from his ship hold were present, though of course there were some casualties in the assault on his ship hold.  Noticeably absent were the replaceable, but very valuable, Cream Soda barrels, which, being heavy enough, had sunk into the deep sea.  They now rested in an area that would one day be known as the Soda Seas.

He then saw an island.  On that island, a ship was setting on the sand.  His ship.

Yes, the Migrator had once again found its creator.  The force's last spell had picked up quite a bit of water, and, with it, the oh-so important ship.

But, that island had more than just sand.  Like the one the force had left this morning after so many years of living there, this island (which was far bigger) was full of trees.  Trees that were perfect for building a ship.  Or, in this case, repairing one.

Yes, as you probably know, the Migrator did sail the seas once again after that first adventure.  Rockhopper gathered his things, hat included, and rebuilt his ship.  After several weeks, he had finished the repairs.  He then journeyed into the island and found his first great treasure.  Things were definitely looking up for the pirate.

Over the next year, Rockhopper travelled from island to island, collecting things, meeting locals, growing a beard, and gradually finding his way home.  Eventually, Rockhopper stood once again on the snow of Club Penguin Island.  He was greeted like a hero.  And, the rest, as they so painfully, constantly say, is history.

----

The force was not met with such praise.  A few hours after she fell asleep, she washed up onto Club Penguin Island.  However, she was nowhere near the population of the island; she had ended up on the opposite side of the island.  She never saw a penguin during this period, nor for a long time after that; it had been the middle of the night when the little Rockhopper confrontation had taken place, and, so, not a single person had seen the action go down.  There was no reason to search for anything or anyone because the event seemingly had not occurred.

Still recovering from her experience with that horrible liquid and her powerful last curse, she stayed at the edge of the island for several weeks.  Once she had recharged, she began to explore.  For years, she looked for a way out of the brush, into the society she wanted to rule.  However, the forest was so expansive, that she was never able to find a way out.

One day, she stumbled upon an old temple that had a prophecy.  She read and reread the words of it, soaking their delicious meaning in.

For the Caster's powerful reign to occur,
She must first extract some energy, let me assure.

Twelve pieces of energy from twelve of those who dwell,
Will do the trick, Will start the spell.

And when that's complete, she will be terrifying and bright,
She will rule over all, both day and night.

The Caster.  The two words hung on her lips.  She had never had a name.  The people she came across merely called her "that thing" or "that woman."  She had never considered labeling herself with a title.  She quite liked the sound of "The Caster" and decided to stick with it.

You know what else she liked?  What the prophecy told her.  She decided to change her path, abandoning her plan of domination by force, which would have been so sticky and complicated.  Instead, she focused merely on those three lines.  Those three sentences.......they meant everything.

The newly christened Caster found a section of area where lost penguins and explorers often came.  She stole their energy and over the years grew very strong.  Had she not been so closed-minded, she may have gone forward, towards the place where the penguins had come from, and finally found the main part of the island.  This would have kickstarted her original plan that she had been so focused on all those years ago.  However, because she was so sure of herself, the thought of abandoning this second plan, which was so clean and fool-proof, to reunite with the first scheme never crossed her mind.

After a handful of years, the Caster crossed paths with two young penguins: Alaska and Yukon.  They were to be the final piece in her perfect puzzle.  Instead, they were her undoing.  Because of them, she had to move to new plan.  And, the rest, as they so painfully, constantly say, is history.

So, that's the end, right?  All of the threads are wrapped up in a nice little bow and all of the timelines are up to date.  There's nothing left to say.  Right?

Oh, you have so much to learn.

To Be Continued
